We’ve seen many a data disasters here at Kingdom Data Recovery throughout of time so we thought we would share some of the more unusual ones with you. To stop his drive squeaking a university professor sprayed it with lubricant. The drive stopped squeaking, and subsequently stopped working as well.
Foolish Feline
A graphic design student had left her Mac-book charging on the living room floor for a few hours, her kitten mistook the keyboard as litter tray.
Helicopter Hop
Employees of a global telecommunications company were working against time while aboard a helicopter when they accidentally dropped their laptop.
Gone Bananas
An IT technician left the remains of his banana peel on top of an external hard drive. The contents soon oozed, seeped into the drive and damaged corporate data.
Butchered
The hard drive of a butcher shop crashed and sent it in for recovery, packaged in Styrofoam, along with the remains of some cured ham.
Shampoo Job
On a flight, a passenger packed his laptop into his main luggage along with his toiletries. The shampoo leaked, right into the laptop’s hard drive and washed the data away.
Sock Shocks
What was supposed to be a minor repair job became a major one when a customer shipped his hard drive to us wrapped in a pair of socks which, of course, did not offer greatest of protection during shipping.
Rescue Mishap
After a small fire broke out in the research department of a UK university. Well-meaning firemen aggressively attacked with water, soaking all the computers and servers in the process...
