USB Memory Stick Not Recognised

When a USB memory stick is not recognised by your computer's operating system, this is normally an indication that there is not sufficient power being supplied to the USB memory stick, often caused by any combination of:

  • Broken tracks on the chip
  • Intermittant or faulty USB connection
  • Faulty controller chip

Data can be successfully recovered from broken or damaged USB devices which are not being recognised by your computer by a data recovery specialist either repairing the USB memory stick or removing the memory chip and decrypting the the data using highly sophistcated, dedicated hardware.

Attempting to repair these sort of problems either as a DIY fix, or even via a local IT support company often causes further problems, resulting in higher recovery costs or, in worst case scenarios - a complete loss of all the data.

Don't gamble with your data. Give yourself the best possible chance of retrieving your precious data by only using a professional data recovery specialist at the earliest possible opportunity.
